College Preparedness
GYA provides all youth who enroll in our programs with ongoing case management. An important part of this case management is encouraging all of the youth in our programs to finish high school, and to enroll in college. Since almost all of our youth are low-income, we also assist them in filling out financial aid forms.

GYA also takes youth participants on field trips to visit colleges. The youth have visited Glendale Community College, UCLA, and UC Santa Barbara. The visit to UC Santa Barbara, included a tour of the campus, an orientation regarding admissions requirements, a tour of the dormitories, and a visit to an on-campus contemporary art gallery. The youth also had an opportunity to speak to some students and ask them questions.
